Blackbeard

From his base at Ocracoke, Blackbeard conducted one of his boldest acts-- blockading the port of Charleston. Capturing nine ships and taking several important citizens hostage, Blackbeard demanded medicine and other supplies for his ailing crew, before leaving. This act would stir public support against him and piracy in the Atlantic.
