Henry “Long Ben” Avery

The crew of 113 made their hasty escape. A majority headed to America, some to the West Indies and the rest to Britain. Yet 24 pirates were captured and 6 were eventually executed. While theories abound as to Avery’s fate, the fact is the man disappeared, his name absent from all records after 1696.
